Online Donations Pages Go Live

We've set up online donations pages at justgiving.com to make donating far easier for people. Because we are riding for three charities we have had to set up three separate pages - one for each charity. We'll leave it to you to decide on which charity to donate to - there are brief descriptions on each charity below - or you could even divide your donations between two or all three of the charities, the choice is yours, but they are all fantastic charities helping sufferers and their families in a time of need.

Marie Curie Cancer Care

Oswestry Advertizer

A SPONSORED bike ride is taking place next month with organisers inviting cyclists and families to take part in the Lake Vyrnwy 100.

The challenge is to cycle 10 laps, over 100 miles, around Lake Vyrnwy to raise money for the Severn Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Care on Sunday, November 15. But riders can just cycle one lap, as long as you raise plenty of sponsorship money!

The circuit of the lake is just over 11 miles and provides a steady ride on the mostly flat terrain and provides some excellent views. It is open to everyone who wants to take part, you can take up the challenge of the ten laps or just undertake a leisurely lap with the family. You will need drink and food to keep you going, basic spares (puncture repair kit, pump, etc) and waterproof clothing, just in case. Helmets are recommended as it is a public highway.

Sponsor forms are available by email from lakevyrnwy100@hotmail.com , from Stuart Barkley Cycles in Oswesty or download a sponsor form at http://lakevyrnwy100.blogspot.com/ to download a form.

The event will be starting at 9.30am for those undertaking the 100 Challenge, if you are doing one or more laps then turn up anytime. The base for the event will be the first car park past the Visitor Centre- the one with the big picnic tables overlooking the lake.

There will be a registration point, so take along your total raised. There are also cafes, bike hire and a visitor centre at the lake.

First Post

A sponsored bike ride is taking place in the next couple of weeks inviting cyclists, families, etc to take part in the Lake Vyrnwy 100.

The event is being held to raise money for the charities in memory of Matthew Jones, or Mash as he was known, who lost his battle against cancer earlier this year. We want to raise vital funds for these charities who offered so much support.
